Barcelona Midfielder Believes He'll Be At Liverpool Next Season -Report
Reports: West Ham’s Alex Song believes he will join Liverpool in the summer
West Ham midfielder Alex Song
is a firm believer that if he continues to impress for the Hammers this
season, he could earn a move to Liverpool in the summer, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Song’s future at Barcelona had hit a brick wall following his move to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2012, failing to make the desired impact in Spain after impressing for Arsenal previously.
Song opted to make the move to West Ham on a season-long loan in August, and the tenacious midfielder has become a fans’ favourite, making 20 league appearances.
The 27-year-old has impressed so far under Sam Allardyce, as the Hammers look to regain their good form, and his performances have attracted plenty of attention recently, with Liverpool showing interest in him, as reported by The Mirror.
However when compared with Liverpool’s current defensive midfield options, Song doesn’t quite measure up; Lucas Leiva has a defence score of 10.12-per-90 this season, whilst Joe Allen has a score of 7.74, but the Cameroon international has a poor total of -1.32. Song also trails the pair in tackles won and interceptions made.
