David Beckham offered site for soccer stadium
David Beckham has been offered a site in Miami for a Major League Soccer stadium.
Miami-Dade County Commissioners agreed today on a resolution calling for mayor Carlos Gimenez or his designee to negotiate or finalise a deal with Beckham.
It was not immediately clear how much contact the county has had with Beckham and his partners.
Beckham's efforts to get Miami waterfront property for the stadium failed last summer.
The latest offer is a plot on the west side of Marlins Park, a baseball stadium, that has been generally earmarked for football fields.
Beckham's group had previously said they were not interested if they could not have a stadium in central Miami.
