Reports: Barcelona target Danilo’s agent in Manchester to discuss United move

Man United appear to be close to signing Porto right-back Danilo after his agent is in Manchester and the Red Devils are willing to pay his full release clause, according to Sport.

The Red Devils look to have stolen a lead on Barcelona for the 23-year-old right-back and are now in discussions with his representative in Manchester, as they look to thrash out a deal.

Sport report that United are willing to pay Danilo’s £37 million release clause, whilst Barcelona were not sure the player was worth that amount. The La Liga giants had wanted him to replace United target Dani Alves, as Sport previously reported, as the veteran Brazilian right-back is almost out of contract in Barcelona.

He would provide strength and consistency at the back, which has sometimes been lacking under Louis van Gaal this season, so he would be a great addition to the Red Devils’ backline.
